How to declutter

Kitchen is the heart of any house. We spent a large portion of our day in the kitchen, and end up piling our belongings on the countertops. In addition, a lot of that clutter has to do with all of the electronics. Now, with the Internet of Things it seems like the number of IT devices is doubling from year to year. Presently everyone owns a cellphone, a laptop in addition to a tablet and a bunch of Smart Home devices such as Alexa. In brief, many of these devices end up on the same kitchen counter cluttering. All things considered the smart devices are fighting with your toaster or blender for the counter space as well as the electrical outlets.

First Things first

Start the declutter process by removing everything off the counters. Secondly, put as many of your belongings back in their place as possible. Next, clean your counter space with soapy water or a cleaner specific to your counter. Before moving everything back consider storing some of it in a cabinet or a closet. Do you have a toaster or a blender you don’t use every day? Having a little space on the counters is great, and should be your goal. What if you’re still stock with too many electronic devices fighting for the electrical outlets? What do you do now?

Technology – Leviton T5635

Are you stock? You have too many devices and not enough electrical outlets? How to decide what’s more important? What about all of your cellphones, and tablets? Don’t forget the Smart Cameras, and Smart Speakers. As a result of the growing number of IOT devices we use every day Leviton engineered the T5635. Moreover, this is a 30 Watt (6A) Dual Type USB C outlet charger with a 15 Amp Tamper-Resistant Receptacle. At this instant you’re probably thinking of this gigantic device that plugs into your kitchen outlet right? Well actually, the outlet is the regular size. The only difference is that it has the two USB Type C plugs built in. In effect, the T5635 gives you additional plugs for your electronic devices without taking up extra space. That means you can finally get rid of the cumbersome electrical strips, and the bulky phone chargers. Each device can power two electrical devices, and two smart USB Type C devices.

USB Type C

By now you probably already know that USB Type-C is the emerging standard for transferring data and charging devices across the board. Moreover, Android and Apple is turning towards this new USB technology as a replacement. In addition, the USB-C is also capable of video transfer, and allows for charging times up to 70% faster (thanks to the USB PD or the Quick Charge standard). Luckily Team Willow was able to get our hands on the T5635, and we attest it to be true (please look at the picture below). In addition, the Quick Charge feature (Power Delivery) worked on all the USB-C phones we’ve tested. With this in mind, the receptacle has a SMART chip that recognizes the device charging in order to optimize the charge. As if that wasn’t enough, it’s overcurrent Protection protects electronic devices from getting too much power. Another key feature is the Tamper-Resistant protection, perfect for those of us with little kids. Great job Leviton!
